These Pokemon are a must if you want to quickly beat Scarlet and Violet’s Tera Raid troops.
The Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet let you and up to three friends fight in very hard battles that are much harder than the Sword and Shield battles. Connection problems make a lot of raids messy, which can be annoying because your turns may be skipped and boss HP bars often show wrong information.
Even though there were technical problems, Game Freak seemed determined to make the six- and seven-star raids very hard. Getting your Pokemon to level 100 and giving them the right moves are the very least you need to do to get in.

ToggleChansey
The pink egg for safety It’s not very offensive to use Pokemon in fight, but they are great for staying alive if you don’t want to slow down your team. Don’t worry if you’re still learning the basics or don’t have a good way to attack a certain Tera Raid. Chansey is the answer.
If you want to protect, heal, or improve your friends, Light Screen, Heal Pulse, and Helping Hand are all great options. These moves can be used to get unlimited “Cheering,” which can only be used three times per battle usually. If you’re used to playing support characters in other games, Chansey will be the easiest way to get into Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Tera Raids.
Tinkaton
Because it is completely immune to Poison and Dragon and has an amazing protection to nine types, Tinkaton is a great fit for Tera Raids. Fairy-type Pokemon usually have a hard time with Poison-type Pokemon, but Tinkaton doesn’t care about them because it only has weaknesses to Fire and Ground.
That being said, Tinkaton’s Attack score of 75 isn’t the best, but it has access to strong moves like Gigaton Hammer and Play Rough, so it can definitely deal damage. You can also use a Steel Terastallization to help Tinkaton do more damage with Gigaton Hammer.
You can switch to defensive mode with Tinkaton without any problems. It can even take hits if you cheer “Hang Tough,” which makes its defense even stronger.
Kingambit
Kingambit is one of the best Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet because it is so good at both attack and defense. Kingambit shouldn’t be used in raids because he is quadruple weak against Fighting, but there are plenty of other times when he can really shine.
If you’re scared about Kingambit’s slightly lower Special Defense, don’t be. An Assault Vest can fix this, making it almost impossible for non-Super Effective attacks to knock it out. Both Kowtow Cleave and Iron Head are strong STAB moves that you can use after Terastallize. They should give you enough damage to deal with any weak opponent.
Sylveon
This pure Fairy-type Eevee is ready to help its teammates with moves like Light Screen and Helping Hand, but it’s also not afraid to take things into its own hands if it needs to. In Tera Raids, Sylveon will do very well against Special Attackers that aren’t very strong against Special moves, thanks to its 130 Special Defense and 110 Special Attack.
With Calm Mind, Sylveon can raise both of its Special stats by one stage. This makes it a very strong opponent for Tera Raid faves like Garchomp and Hydreigon. No matter what build you choose for Sylveon, its well-rounded stats should make it strong. This is something Pokemon like Chansey can only wish they had.
Iron Thorns
Even though Iron Thorns is four times weaker than Ground, its raw power and ability to work well with other Electric-type Pokemon make it a great choice, especially against bosses that fly. With a huge 134 Attack, Iron Thorns can use all of the elements “Fang” attacks, as well as Stone Edge, Wild Charge, and even Electric Terrain if no one else is around to set it.
Even though Iron Thorns is very weak against Ground, it can take some hits from popular types like Electric, Fire, Flying, Normal, and even Poison because it is resistant to all of them. You can switch jobs if you see that your teammates are doing more damage when you help them with Electric Terrain. The terrain will stop partners from being affected by Yawn or other moves that make you sleepy, even if they are not Electric-type.
Umbreon
Like its fellow Eeveelution, Sylveon, Umbreon can be an important part of many Tera Raid plays. This big Dark-type Pokémon fills a useful role better than Blissey. In simple terms, Umbreon can do a lot of different things. He can lower an enemy’s stats, put them under a status condition, and even help friends by using Helping Hand.
Make sure you spend money on Special Defense and HP Effort Values (EVs) so that Umbreon can take a hit (or several). It is clear that Leftovers will be Umbreon’s best item in Tera Raids, and Synchronize is its best ability. You can focus on Helping Hand or Screech instead of Synchronize because it will copy any status effect the Tera Raid boss gives to Umbreon.
Flutter Mane
Tera Raids is a game where you have to stay alive and do enough damage before time runs out. Luckily, Flutter Mane has the type mix of Fairy and Ghost, which protects it from all Normal, Dragon, and Fighting-type attacks.
Flutter Mane is one of the best Tera Raid Pokemon Scarlet has to offer. Only Ghost and Steel-type Pokemon can hurt it, and it can even use Mystical Fire to attack Steel-type Pokemon. You can choose where to stand in Tera Raids, which means you can put your Flutter Mane in the best situation to win with the fewest problems.
Gholdengo
Gholdengo has to give up the title of best Pokemon for Tera Raids, which makes him sad. Don’t get me wrong—Gholdengo still has a lot of different build choices, but the best Tera Raid Pokemon have gotten better since Scarlet and Violet left. Gholdengo is great as a straight Special Attack-focused counter because he has strong moves like Shadow Ball and Make It Rain.
You can also make a tanky Gholdengo by focusing on defense EVs and using Recover to make sure you stay alive when your HP drops. Nasty Plot is another great move for this long gold Pokemon to add to its generalist set. You can also use Gholdengo to fight Iron Leaves because it can block most of their moves and hit back with a strong Shadow Ball.
Annihilape
Annihilape is one of the best new Pokemon in Paldea. Its strong Rage Fist can do a lot of damage to Tera Raid bosses that are weak. This Pokemon is very angry, so be careful where you put it. After a few hits, Annihilape will show how powerful it really is.
When you stack Rage Fist’s power with some “Go All Out” cheers, your boosts will be even stronger. This will give you insane damage that can wipe out many bosses’ health bars, as long as they haven’t stacked too many buffs. What if they have? Your full 350 base power for Rage Fist should be enough to easily beat five-star bosses.
Annihilape is also a great way to fight seven-star Bug-Tera Samurott raids that depend on Screech and Rage Fist to win.
Miraidon
As its Hadron Engine ability sets up Electric Terrain for your side, making all of your Electric strikes stronger and protecting you from Sleep, Miraidon was made to be used in Tera Raids. Popular Electric-type attackers need extra power, and there aren’t many strong Physical Electric moves that don’t counter. Miraidon can definitely bring a team to victory.
At the very least, Miraidon makes sure that your Pokemon are awake and ready to fight, which can mean the difference between winning and running out of time. When you put this famous Pokemon together with Iron Thorns and Iron Hands, which is its best friend, amazing things happen.
Iron Hands
Iron Hands is the best Tera Raid choice because it has the very powerful combination of Belly Drum and Drain Punch, making it the perfect partner for Miraidon. After using Belly Drum to lower your health to boost your attack, Drain Punch is the best way to heal yourself while doing a lot of damage to the boss.
Its 140 Attack and 154 HP are the best in Flappy Bird, so Iron Hands can take a hit after using Belly Drum and heal back to full after just one punch. If you have to use Thunder Punch instead, give Iron Hands a Shell Bell to get the same HP-recovery benefit without lowering its Super Effective damage output.
Grimmsnarl
Grimmsnarel is without a doubt one of the best Tera Raid Pokemon because it is so big and can help its friends with both Light Screen and Reflect. In the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet competitive scene, this same support-based strategy became famous as a great wall.
Similarly, putting up screens on the first two turns can help your team defend against attacks that hit hard and do a lot of damage. If you want to play the support part, make sure you have Taunt and either Play Rough or Fake Tears with you to deal damage or debuff.
Azumarill
With the addition of seven-star Charizard Tera Raids, players needed a Pokemon that could protect itself from Fire and Dragon strikes while dealing a lot of damage to Dragons. Azumarill is the best Pokémon to use against Charizard. You can give the Azumarill a lot of power with the Huge Power ability and moves like Belly Drum and Play Rough, even though its stats aren’t great.
You can learn Belly Drum from a Hariyama who already knows it. To do this, leave Azumarill with three moves and a Mirror Herb, then have a lunch with both Pokemon. Once you’re done, add Misty Terrain and Liquidation to your moveset to make it more useful and to lower an enemy’s Defense. Put this blue Water rabbit on a Shell Bell and watch it work.
Slowbro
Slowbro might not look like a strong Pokemon, but it is one of the best Tera Raid Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet. With the right builds, Slowbro is so dangerous that it can beat both the Tera Poison Greninja and Tera Fighting Cinderace events by itself.
Slowbro can use moves like Amnesia to boost its numbers, which lets it use Stored Power to launch devastatingly powerful attacks. The more stats that are raised, the more damage that is done. If you already have a lot of bulk, add Leftovers to keep healing or a Shell Bell to heal chunks back as you deal damage.
Mew
The best Tera Raid Pokemon, Scarlet and Violet, had their lives changed when the Mew Mystery gifts were given out. Each Mew has a unique Tera Type and signature move that goes with it, but what makes them so good is that they can use a huge number of moves.
As an example, Mew was the best Pokémon to fight Mewtwo in its short Tera Raid event. You could use a lot of different moves to beat Mewtwo, such as Swords Dance, Calm Mind, Struggle Bug, Snarl, and Leech Life.
This Pokemon, Mew, is the best for Tera Raids because it can get stronger and be used as an attacker, or it can be a great backup for almost any team. Mew is at the top because it takes the best parts of Tera Raid giants like Slowbro and Grimmsnarl and puts them all together.
